SDF strikes Turkish forces in north Syria following deadly drone attack
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that they carried out a series of military operations against Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian armed factions in northern Syria, resulting in multiple casualties.
In an official statement, the SDF said their operations were conducted in retaliation for what they described as a “massacre by Turkish occupation forces” in the countryside of Kobani.
According to the statement, SDF fighters launched intense attacks, inflicting casualties among Turkish-backed militias.
One of the operations targeted Turkish military positions west of the Qaraqozaq Bridge, causing significant damage to the bases, though the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed.
A second attack southwest of the bridge reportedly destroyed a radar station and inflicted severe damage on a Turkish base.
The statement highlighted that SDF forces carried out four successful attacks against Turkish military positions and affiliated factions, resulting in confirmed hits, though the extent of the losses remains unknown.
The SDF also claimed responsibility for an attack on Turkish-backed militants near the Tishrin Dam, stating that three were killed and two others wounded.
Meanwhile, the SDF reported repelling an assault on the village of Bir Arab in the Ain Issa countryside and conducting a counterattack against Turkish-affiliated militants.
The escalation follows a deadly drone strike late Sunday night, which claimed the lives of nine members of a single family and left two children critically wounded after their home was targeted by a Turkish drone.
