Residents of Syria’s Homs find body of former regime officer

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Residents discovered on Sunday the body of a former regime officer, who had been fatally shot under mysterious circumstances in the eastern countryside of Homs, central Syria.

A local source from the town of al-Qaryatayn said that townspeople found Walid Abdullah’s body, with gunshot wounds, near an abandoned house on the outskirts of the al-Qaryatayn desert.

Speaking to North Press, the source revealed that Abdullah, a former first lieutenant in Division 18 and a native of the town, had been missing for over twenty days.

Eyewitnesses indicated that Abdullah had been tortured before being executed.
