Death toll of blast in Syria’s Latakia rises to 14

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Civil Defense said on Sunday that the death toll from the explosion in a neighborhood in Latakia, western Syria, has risen to 14, according to preliminary figures.

The explosion, which occurred on Saturday, caused the collapse of a residential building, killing four civilians and injuring others. The cause of the explosion remains unknown.

The Civil Defense further stated that the death toll now stands at 14, including four women and four children. Additionally, 18 people have been injured, six of whom are children.

However, the Civil Defense noted that this toll is not final, as search and rescue operations continue to recover those trapped under the rubble of the destroyed building.
