Vance says U.S. remains committed to protecting minorities in Syria
QAMISHIL, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated on Friday evening that Washington remains committed to protecting minority communities in Syria through diplomatic means and it will not deploy American forces to the country.
In an interview with Fox News, Vance emphasized the need for the U.S. administration to remember who it is dealing with in Syria and ensure the protection of these historic communities.
He highlighted ongoing diplomatic efforts with allies, conducted away from public scrutiny, aimed at encouraging the Syrian administration to safeguard Christian, Druze, and other minority populations.
Meanwhile, a senior U.S. official revealed on Saturday that Washington has played a mediating role in fostering closer ties between the Kurdish leadership and Syria’s new government. This statement refers to the agreement reached between the two parties on March 10.
