Turkey’s FM discusses SDF-Government agreement during visit to Syria

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan stated on Friday, following his visit to Damascus, that they discussed the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government and conveyed concerns regarding the matter.

On Thursday, Syrian Transitional President Ahmed Al-Sharaa met with a high-level Turkish delegation in the capital, Damascus. The delegation included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Director of General Intelligence Ibrahim Kalin.

Speaking to the press after the visit, Fidan remarked that they expect Damascus to grant the Kurds their rights. In return, the terrorist presence in the region must be dismantled.

He further emphasized that terrorist organizations are attempting to exploit the situation in Syria, adding, this was a key point of discussion during the visit to Damascus.

Fidan also stressed the importance of regional and international support for Syria, stating that the country needs assistance from its neighbors and the global community, according to SANA.
