AANES hails SDF-Syrian state agreement as historic victory

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) hailed on Wednesday the agreement between the Syrian state and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), calling it “important and historic,” and describing it as a “victory for the entire Syrian people.”

In an official statement, the AANES emphasized that the agreement reinforces the principle that dialogue is the only viable solution to Syria’s challenges. It also reaffirmed its commitment to preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and social fabric.

The statement further described the agreement as a crucial step toward bridging divides between Syrian factions, fostering inclusivity, and strengthening the spirit of partnership in shaping a new Syria—one free from exclusion and tyranny.

Additionally, the AANES asserted that the agreement thwarted attempts to incite strife and sow chaos among Syria’s diverse communities.

Recalling the Qamishli uprising of 2004, the statement underscored that the previous Syrian regime failed to sever the deep-rooted ties between the region’s peoples—particularly between Kurds and Arabs.
