SDF launches operation targeting ISIS sleeper cells in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday the launch of a security operation targeting Islamic State (ISIS) members in the countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria.
In a statement issued after residents heard planes and explosions at dawn, the SDF clarified that it is carrying out a precision security operation with support from the U.S.-led Global Coalition, aimed at dismantling ISIS sleeper cells.
The statement further noted that the operation specifically targeted hideouts in the western countryside of Raqqa.
