U.S. envoy meets Kurdish movement in Syria’s Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Scott Bolz, U.S. envoy to Northeast Syria held on Sunday a meeting with a Kurdish movement in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, to discuss the current situation in Syria and the Kurdish issue.

A participant from the Independent Kurdistan Movement – Syria told North Press that the discussions focused on Syria’s overall political landscape, with particular emphasis on Kurdish representation.

The source added that the formation of a unified Kurdish delegation for dialogue with Damascus was a key topic, alongside discussions on recent events on the Syrian coast and the urgent need for a ceasefire and inclusive dialogue among all Syrian communities.

“We conveyed to the U.S. envoy that the Kurdish issue is broader than just inter-Kurdish dialogue—what truly matters is a unified Kurdish stance,” the source stated.

During the meeting, Bolz urged Kurdish parties to set aside their differences and refrain from political disputes over quotas, emphasizing the importance of unity in addressing Syria’s ongoing crisis.
