Landmine blast in Syria’s Hasakah injures young man
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Mahmoud al-Daham, a 27-year-old man, sustained on Friday severe injuries after a landmine exploded near the village of al-Rabiat in the countryside of Zarkan (Abu Rasin), north of Hasakah in northeastern Syria.
A medical source at Tel Tamr Hospital told North Press that Mahmoud suffered multiple injuries across his body due to the explosion.
The source added that he sustained significant damage to his left hand, requiring a corrective amputation, along with other shrapnel wounds in various areas.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance remain a major threat to civilians in Syria, particularly in rural and conflict-affected regions.
