European Union lifts energy, transportation sanctions on Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The European Union lifted on Monday several sanctions on Syria, specifically targeting the energy and transport sectors.
As part of this decision, the EU removed four Syrian banks and the country’s national airline from its sanctions list.
Earlier, the European Union had announced plans to ease sanctions on Syria’s energy, transportation, and banking sectors during a scheduled meeting on Monday.
This move marks a suspension of previously imposed sanctions related to energy, transport, and reconstruction, signaling a shift in the EU’s approach toward economic restrictions on Syria.
