Over 160 Iraqi families leave Syria’s Hawl Camp to Iraq

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – 163 Iraqi families were repatriated on Sunday from Hawl camp in the countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, as part of ongoing coordination between the Iraqi government and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

This marks the 22nd group to be evacuated since the start of the repatriation process and the fourth such transfer since the beginning of 2025.

According to the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish), the departing families comprised 605 individuals who were relocated from Hawl camp to Jad’a camp in Iraq.

On Feb. 9, an additional 155 Iraqi families left the camp under similar arrangements with the Iraqi government.
