45 Iraqi families leave Roj camp in NE Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Forty-five Iraqi families, totaling 184 individuals, departed on Tuesday from the Roj camp located in the Derik countryside in far northeastern Syria.
The Roj camp administration told North Press that 28 Iraqi families, 13 Syrian families, and numerous foreigners remain in the camp.
Accompanied by a delegation from the Iraqi government, this move marks the first such departure since 2018.
The camp administration added that further departures are anticipated based on residents’ wishes.
The evacuated families are being transferred to the Jad’ah camp in Mosul, Iraq, as part of a coordinated effort between the camp authorities and the Iraqi government.
