Raqqa dialogue forum focuses on social cohesion, inclusion

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The DeFacto Dialogue Platform, the Stability Support Center, and the Humanitarian and Development Cooperation Organization held on Sunday a dialogue session titled “Dialogue Forum for Raqqa” in the city of Raqqa in northern Syria.

The forum was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on the role of local communities in fostering reconciliation, promoting dialogue, and encouraging acceptance of others within Raqqa and the broader region.

Participants also discussed initiatives to build trust between the city’s diverse social components and governing authorities.

The second session addressed the barriers preventing full community participation in decision-making and explored potential solutions.

Participants also shared their perspectives and recommendations regarding the future of northern and eastern Syria amid ongoing changes in the country.

The event brought together political and tribal figures, intellectuals, journalists, and civil society activists.

Bilind Mulla, forum’s facilitator, emphasized the importance of such discussions, particularly given Syria’s ongoing transitional phase.

“These sessions are crucial at this time, as Syria faces a period that demands open and inclusive dialogue,” he said.

Mulla highlighted the challenges Raqqa has endured, especially after the fall of the Assad regime, which significantly impacted its social fabric.

“Through these forums, we aim to play a role in strengthening civil peace and social cohesion,” he noted. “Dialogue among Syrians is more necessary than ever.”
