Three unidentified bodies discovered in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Residents of a town in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, discovered on Sunday three unidentified bodies in the town’s desert outskirts.

A local source from Deir ez-Zor said that a group of truffle hunters stumbled upon the bodies in a shallow pit in the al-Tebni desert.

“The bodies had been there for months, as they were already decomposed,” the source told North Press.

While the identities remain unknown, the source speculated that the victims may have been former government personnel, given the presence of numerous regime-affiliated sites in the area in the past.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the discovery.
