Iraqi forces with CENTCOM support kill 5 ISIS members in Kirkuk

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that Iraqi forces, with CENTCOM support, conducted a precise airstrike, killing five members of the Islamic State (ISIS) near Kirkuk, Iraq.

An initial assessment of the strike site, conducted on Jan. 31, uncovered multiple explosive belts and other materials linked to the group.

This operation is part of the ongoing campaign by Iraqi forces to permanently dismantle ISIS by disrupting its networks, weakening its operational capabilities, and ensuring its lasting defeat.

A CENTCOM statement confirmed that U.S. forces provided intelligence and technical support during the mission.

The statement also emphasized that “ISIS remains a threat to the region and beyond, and CENTCOM, along with partners and allies, will continue to aggressively pursue these terrorists to protect the homeland.”
