SDF, Asayish target armed groups in Deir ez-Zor raids
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) launched on Friday night a series of coordinated raids targeting “militants of the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the former Iranian-backed al-Hefl militias” in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source from the SDF told North Press that the operations focused on the towns of Abu Hardoub, Abu Hamam, and al-Busayrah, aiming to apprehend individuals implicated in activities undermining security and stability in the region.
The raids led to the arrest of approximately 30 suspects affiliated with the al-Hefl and NDF militia, the source stated, adding that weapons and significant quantities of ammunition were seized during the operations.
The source confirmed that the raids, now ongoing for the fifth consecutive day, will continue until all individuals involved in destabilizing actions are captured.
Praising the support of local communities, the source emphasized that these operations have been highly effective and precise, thanks to the solidarity and cooperation of the residents in Deir ez-Zor with the military forces.
