Two separate landmine blasts kill 5 people in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Five people, including two young sisters, were killed on Wednesday night in two separate landmine explosions in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A local source said that a landmine, a remnant of war, detonated near a group of truffle hunters in the desert near the village of Kabajib, west of Deir ez-Zor.

The source told North Press that the explosion claimed the lives of three individuals, Sami al-Rahil, Ali al-Tobaan, and Khamis al-Frouan.

In a separate incident in the town of Hawija Sakr, two sisters, Ayat and Israa al-Ahmad al-Anter, tragically lost their lives when a landmine exploded near their family home on the town’s outskirts.
