Bahrain: Committed to Syria’s Independence and Regional Role
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani affirmed on Wednesday his country’s steadfast commitment to ensuring Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its return to prominence on both the Arab and international stages.
The statement came during a formal meeting held in Damascus, where Al-Zayani met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and the head of Syria’s new administration, Ahmed Al-Shara. The Bahraini delegation, led by Al-Zayani, was warmly received at the People’s Palace, signaling a strengthening of ties between the two nations.
Al-Zayani expressed Bahrain’s readiness to deepen collaborative efforts in various sectors, emphasizing that such cooperation would contribute significantly to regional stability and development. “We are prepared to expand the horizons of joint cooperation with Syria in all fields,” he said.
The Bahraini minister also called for the “immediate removal of economic sanctions on Syria,” highlighting that lifting these restrictions is crucial to Syria’s recovery and reintegration into the global economy.
This visit marks a significant development in Syria’s expanding diplomatic outreach, as regional powers like Bahrain advocate for a unified and stable Middle East while fostering mutual economic and political gains.
