DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, humanitarian aid arrived in Syria through land and air routes from Jordan and Saudi Arabia, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by the Syrian people.
The Jordanian Embassy in Damascus announced the arrival of an aid convoy organized by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO). This initiative was carried out under royal directives to support Syrians and ease their suffering.
Jordan’s Contribution
The convoy, handed over to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent at the Jaber Border Crossing, included approximately 300 tons of food and relief supplies. The handover ceremony was attended by the Jordanian Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus, Basil al-Kayed. The JHCO stated that this shipment is part of an ongoing series of aid convoys that Jordan plans to send to various regions across Syria.
Saudi Arabia’s Relief Efforts
Additionally, Saudi Arabia sent its seventh relief plane to Syria as part of an air bridge operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief).
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the plane, which landed at Damascus International Airport, carried food, medical supplies, and shelter materials. This aid is intended to help mitigate the difficult conditions currently affecting the Syrian population.
Joint Efforts for Relief
Both Jordanian and Saudi contributions highlight the growing regional efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Syria. These initiatives come amid significant challenges in delivering aid to conflict-affected areas and a critical need for sustained international support.
