MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Militants of the Turkish-backed armed factions, aka the Syria National Army (SNA), arrested on Monday night a resident in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria, after he resisted their attempt to loot his home.
A military source from the SNA told North Press that the arrest took place in the village of Kabirjah, located in the southern countryside of Manbij.
The source added the man confronted SNA militants when they tried to break into his home.
The source added that after the confrontation, the SNA militants fled, only to return later with a patrol of ten vehicles. The contents of the man’s home were looted, and he was subsequently detained.
Turkish-backed SNA factions seized control of Manbij days after launching a military operation dubbed “Dawn of Freedom.” Human rights organizations have since documented numerous violations committed by these factions in Manbij, including theft and unlawful arrests, and have called for accountability for those responsible.
