HTS reaches deal with former regime-affiliated group in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) reached on Sunday an agreement with an armed group linked to the former Syrian regime in the northern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source informed North Press that the deal occurred in the city of Sanamayn, north of Daraa, and involved the delivering of medium and heavy weapons by the former regime-affiliated group and the prosecution of its members in HTS courts.

The agreement also includes the deployment of ten HTS, recently known as Military Operations Command, military outposts across Sanamayn.

According to the source, this move aims to impose security, stabilize the area, and curb the proliferation of weapons.

This development follows violent clashes on Saturday between HTS forces and the armed group in Sanamayn, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
