U.S. envoy urges Kurdish unity, representation in Syria’s future

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Scott Bolz, U.S. envoy to Northeast Syria, held on Sunday a meeting with the Kurdish National Council (KNC) in the city of Qamishli.

Faisal Youssef, spokesperson for the KNC, told North Press that the American envoy emphasized the importance of Kurdish unity in Syria, stressing the need for a unified stance and vision among Kurdish groups.

He said that Bolz reiterated U.S. support for the rights of the Kurdish people, recognizing them as an ancient and integral community in Syria.

The envoy also underlined the necessity of forming a unified Kurdish delegation to represent the political aspirations of Syria’s Kurds, Youssef added.

He highlighted that a future democratic Syria must embrace all ethnicities and communities as equal participants.

Since the fall of the Assad regime, American and French envoys have held multiple meetings with the KNC and other Kurdish parties in an effort to revive intra-Kurdish dialogue and strengthen cooperation among Syrian Kurds.
