SDF destroys radar systems of Turkish forces in Syria’s Manbij

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Monday that they had destroyed two radar systems, a jamming device, and an armored vehicle belonging to the Turkish forces near the Qaraqozaq Bridge, southeast of Manbij in northern Syria.

In an official statement, the SDF accused Turkey of exploiting the current situation in Syria to establish new military bases within Syrian territory.

The statement added that Turkey has set up two new bases, one in Manbij and another west of the Euphrates River.

“In response to these Turkish occupation attempts, our forces conducted targeted operations, resulted in the destruction of two portable radar systems, a radar-jamming system, and an armored vehicle belonging to the Turkish occupation forces west of the Qara Qwzaq Bridge.”

The SDF also warned of Turkey’s ongoing threats to invade Kurdish-majority areas in northern Syria, particularly the border city of Kobani.

“These Turkish attempts are part of the Turkish occupation plan to expand their occupation of Syrian territory and unequivocally expose its colonial ambitions,” the statement read.
