Asayish capture 27 people linked to ISIS in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Saturday capturing 27 individuals affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) in the countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria.

According to the statement, the Asayish launched a large-scale security operation in the eastern Raqqa countryside after receiving precise intelligence regarding the presence of ISIS cells in the area.

The statement highlighted that the campaign was initiated in response to the recent uptick in ISIS activity and its efforts to destabilize secure regions.

The operation led to the arrest of 27 individuals. Among them, some were identified as members of ISIS cells, while others faced accusations of various criminal activities and inciting disorder in the area.

The operation also resulted in the confiscation of weapons and equipment, including AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
