SDF Repels Turkey-backed Faction Attack East of Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that they had repelled an attack by Turkey-backed factions in areas east of Manbij, northern Syria.

On Monday, SDF forces launched a wide-scale offensive against Ankara-aligned factions in Manbij, gaining control over significant portions of the city’s eastern countryside.

According to an official statement published on their website, the SDF said:

“Our forces thwarted an attack by Turkey-backed factions on Qabir Imo village east of Manbij this morning, resulting in fierce clashes in the area.”

In a related development, the SDF reported:

In Qaraqozak Bridge, their forces destroyed a vehicle belonging to the factions, killing two militants. Meanwhile, Turkish drones targeted Sirrin junction.

In Tishrin Dam, the Manbij Military Council foiled an attack on the villages of Mahshiyeh al-Tawahin and Khirbet Tuwaini in Abu Qalqal district, killing and wounding dozens of faction members.

The SDF also reported the following:

Seized: 2 tanks, artillery weaponry with ammunition

Destroyed: 1 BMB armored vehicle, 2 military vehicles equipped with DShK guns

The statement concluded that clashes in the area were ongoing.
