Unknown gunmen kill former NDF member in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen killed on Saturday a former member of the National Defense Forces (NDF) in an attack in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source from the town of al-Mayadin, located in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, said that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Mustafa al-Ghanam and Shakir al-Awjan with automatic weapons while they were traveling on the main road in the town.
The attack resulted in the death of al-Ghanam and left al-Awjan injured. The gunmen fled the scene immediately after the assault, according to the source.
Both victims were identified as former members of the National Defense, a militia affiliated with the toppled regime’s army. They were also residents of al-Mayadin, the source added.
