Kurrila visits NE Syria, reiterates commitment to defeat ISIS
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – CENTCOM Commander Gen. Kurilla visited on Tuesday Northeast Syria and met U.S. military commanders and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The CENTCOM announced that Kurrila also visited servicemembers, as well as Defeat-ISIS partners at several bases in Syria.
He received a firsthand assessment of force protection measures, the rapidly evolving situation, and ongoing efforts to prevent ISIS from exploiting the current situation.
The CENTCOM reassured that it remains committed to the enduring defeat of ISIS.
Kurrila’s visit came at time where Syria witnesses a new era following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the offensive of the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), on Manbij in northern Syria.
