SDF reports Turkish drone strikes, intensified assaults on Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Saturday that Turkish drones conducted “dozens of airstrikes” targeting the countryside of Manbij in northern Syria.

Opposition-aligned media platforms circulated statements from factions of the Turkish-backed armed opposition, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), claiming to have launched an offensive on the Manbij region.

In a statement, the Manbij Military Council revealed that Ankara-supported SNA factions escalated their attacks on the outskirts and villages of Manbij for the second consecutive day.

Despite the intensified assaults, the council asserted that its forces successfully repelled all advances.

The council highlighted that the SNA factions launched an attack on the village of Awn al-Dadat, located near the Sajur crossing in the Manbij countryside. Clashes ensued, ultimately forcing the attackers to retreat.

Additionally, the council accused the Turkish military of directly orchestrating operations along the Deir Hafer axis, the Tabqa–Aleppo highway, and Manbij’s frontlines.

It claimed that the Turkish drones conducted approximately 20 airstrikes on these areas amid the escalation.
