HTS, SNA capture key areas in Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly Jabhat al-Nusra), and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), claimed on Sunday significant advances, capturing key positions in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.

The factions announced control over two towns in Aleppo’s countryside, including Khanaser, and two neighborhoods within the city.

They also seized the strategic Aleppo-Khanaser road and the route connecting Aleppo to Hama, disrupting vital supply lines.

The SNA factions reported capturing the military colleges in Aleppo, described as the last government strongholds, alongside the Sheikh Najjar industrial zone.

They also took control of the Artillery College and the Assad Academy for Military Engineering within the city.

The SNA also announced it had seized the city of Safirah in southeast of Aleppo, along with several tanks abandoned by retreating government forces.
