Israel targets tunnels used for supplying Hezbollah with weapons
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces said on Monday night that they targeted tunnels across Syrian territory used to supply the Lebanese Hezbollah with weapons.
The Israeli forces revealed that Iran, in coordination with the Lebanese Hezbollah, has spent decades establishing secret corridors and tunnels to supply Hezbollah with advanced weaponry.
Israeli forces’ Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated on X platform that these weapons include thousands of missiles and other combat materials.
He added that Iran exploits Syrian territory for weapons storage and smuggling operations, often with the involvement of Syrian officials.
Adraee highlighted that Hezbollah’s Unit 4400 is responsible for coordinating arms smuggling into Lebanon. He noted that key figures in this unit, including Muhammad Jafar Qasir in Beirut and his successor Ali Hassan Gharib in Damascus, have been targeted in precision operations carried out by the Israeli forces.
The Israeli forces also reported that recent airstrikes targeted a strategic tunnel stretching 3.5 kilometers between Syria and Lebanon, which took approximately 10 years to construct, as well as warehouses and facilities used for transportation operations.
