SDF thwarts SNA infiltration in Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that they had successfully repelled an infiltration attempt by the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), in Raqqa’s northern countryside, northern Syria.

According to a statement on their official website, the SDF ambushed an SNA group attempting to infiltrate the village of Abdoka in the western countryside of the city of Tel Abyad, which has been under the SNA control since 2019.

The clash resulted in the killing of five SNA militants and the injury of four others, according to the SDF statement.

Following the clashes, Turkish forces and the SNA launched an intense artillery and mortar barrage on a nearby village, reportedly firing over 150 shells.

The bombardment caused extensive material damage to civilian properties, the SDF added.
