DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi authoritiesannounced on Monday the capture of six individuals wanted on charges of terrorism, drug and arms trafficking, and kidnapping during operations in Baghdad and Karbala.
Iraq’s General Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DGIS) told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the capture occurred in different parts of Baghdad and Karbala. “Legal measures were taken against the suspects, and their cases were referred to the judiciary,” the statement added.
Iraqi forces continue efforts to dismantle remnants of ISIS and combat organized crime across the country, as the threat from active cells persists despite years of counter-terrorism operations.
