DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its forces had destroyed 15 drones launched by “terrorist organizations” toward areas under government control in Northwest Syria.
In a statement to the state-run news agency SANA, the ministry revealed that its forces, operating in the Aleppo, Idlib, and Latakia countryside, intercepted and neutralized the drones over the past two days.
The ministry claimed the attack was intended to target “army positions as well as nearby safe villages and towns.”
Northwest Syria has recently seen an uptick in military clashes between Syrian government forces and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, once known as al-Nusra Front), highlighting the region’s ongoing instability.
