Syrian government escalates drone strikes in Hama countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Syrian government forces shelled on Tuesday areas in Hama countryside, central Syria, amid a surge in military tensions with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, once known as al-Nusra Front).
Military sources described this escalation as “the most intense in months” between the two sides.
Opposition sources reported that government forces used suicide drones to strike the towns of al-Haluba and al-Enkawi in the al-Ghab Plain, located in the northwest of Hama.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were provided.
Since February, the government forces have increasingly deployed suicide drones to target sites within the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria.
The government recently acknowledged the use of drones, and Russian forces have shared images of joint training sessions with Syrian forces, indicating a coordinated approach in drone operations.
