SDF shoots down combat drone in Syria’s Manbij
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), reported on Monday shooting down a drone over a village in the northern countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.
In a Facebook post, the Council stated that its fighters downed a combat drone over the village of Arab Hassan in the northern countryside of Manbij, clarifying that the drone was intended to target this area.
Manbij and its surrounding villages frequently come under attack by Turkish forces, who use drones, artillery, and rocket fire in the area, often resulting in casualties, injuries, and significant material damage.
The clashes between the Manbij Military Council and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), militants underscore the ongoing conflict in northern Syria, with SNA factions launching frequent incursions that fuel regional instability.
