U.S. warns against escalation in Northeast Syria, stresses ISIS fight
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The United States expressed on Monday concern over recent developments in Northeast Syria, emphasizing the importance of stability in the region.
A U.S. State Department official stated that the United States is closely monitoring the situation and remains dedicated to the mission of defeating the Islamic State (ISIS).
In partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the U.S. continues efforts to counter ISIS, which it identifies as a persistent threat to regional stability.
The official also warned that any military escalation would undermine efforts toward stability, stressing that such actions would destabilize Syria further and serve no party’s interests.
