Israel captures IRGC operative in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces announced on Sunday that the capture of a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) during a targeted operation in southern Syria. 

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said, in a statement, that the IRGC member, identified as Ali Suleiman al-Asi, is a Syrian resident of the village of Saida in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria.

The IDF added that al-Asi was working on behalf of Iran, gathering intelligence on Israeli forces activities along the Syrian border in preparation for potential future attacks.
