SDF, Coalition capture ISIS member in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured on Friday a member of the Islamic State (ISIS), Karam al-Mushawat, in a targeted operation in the city of Qamishli, Northeast Syria.
According to an official statement by the SDF Media Center, the SDF’s Military Operation Teams (MOT), with support from the U.S.-led Global Coalition, conducted a precise security operation aimed at dismantling an ISIS cell operating in the region.
The mission led to the capture of al-Mushawat, a known militant from the town of Abu Kamal in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, who reportedly has a history of involvement in terrorist activities.
The SDF emphasized the ongoing efforts to secure Northeast Syria against ISIS threats and reiterated its commitment to working with international allies to maintain regional stability.
