3 Iranian-backed militants die in separate attacks in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Three militants of an Iranian-backed militia were killed late on Tuesday in two separate attacks in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
A military source from the Syrian government forces said that an airstrike targeted a missile launch site near a school in the village of Mazloum in southeast of Deir ez-Zor.
The strike resulted in the death of the leader of “Fidayi al-Bakiri”, an Iranian-backed militia, Muhammad Khalaf al-Bakiri, as well as another member, Afash al-Khater.
In a separate attack, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, unknown assailants killed Jaloud al-Sha’iti inside his home in the town of Sabikhan, bringing the militia’s death toll in the last 24 hours to six, including two leaders.
Additionally, on Tuesday, a leader of the Iranian-backed Tribal Forces was killed alongside two companions when a bomb detonated in their vehicle in the al-Joura neighborhood in Deir ez-Zor city.
