Turkey bolsters military presence in northern Raqqa amid airstrikes

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces deployed on Saturday substantial military reinforcements to their bases in the northern countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria

A military source informed North Press that a convoy of 57 Turkish military and logistical vehicles, including trucks and armored units, entered through Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad crossings in three phases.

The reinforcements have been stationed in camps and military positions south of the city of Tel Abyad and around the town of Suluk in the northern countryside of Raqqa, and in the east of Sere Kaniye.

These reinforcements include heavy weaponry, rocket systems, communication equipment, and military ambulances, under the supervision of Turkish officers and senior officials.

This development comes amid ongoing airstrikes targeting healthcare, infrastructure, and oil facilities in northeastern Syria.

Since early Oct. 24, Turkey has conducted extensive airstrikes targeting oil facilities, essential infrastructure, and vast areas across northern and northeastern Syria, killing 14 people and injuring 40 others, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) stated.
