Turkish airstrikes escalate, targeting key sites in Northeast Syria  

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces escalated on Friday morning attacks in Northeast Syria, deploying drones to strike multiple sites.

North Press correspondent said that Turkish drones targeted critical areas in the city center of Qamishli, launching four missiles and causing extensive material damage.

Further drone attacks hit the village of Kar Qahfek in the town of Girke Lege (Maabadeh), 40 km east of Qamishli, resulting in additional destruction.

The Turkish strikes also targeted the Awda and Saeeda oil substations near the town Tirbe Spiyeh (al-Qahtaniya), 20 km east of Qamishli, impacting essential infrastructure.

In Kobani, the Turkish drones intensely bombarded the city center and struck silos in the nearby village of Roufi. 

Since the Turkish forces began this escalation on Thursday early morning, 12 civilians, including two children, were killed, and 25 others were injured according to toll released by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Also, some oil facilities and essential infrastructure have been rendered inoperable due to the strikes across Northeast Syria.
