AANES urges action against Turkish attacks in northern Syria
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on Thursday for international forces stationed in Syria to take action and stop Turkish assaults on its territories.
In a press statement from the city of Raqqa in northern Syria, the AANES condemned the Turkish attacks as “a crime against humanity aimed at destabilizing the region and a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty.”
Hikmat Habib, co-chair of the People’s Council (parliament) in Hasakah Governorate, emphasized that Turkey is facing internal economic and democratic crises and is attempting to export these problems beyond its borders.
Habib further noted that Syrians on their territory are bearing the cost of international powers deploying on the Syrian soil, which do not serve the interests of the Syrian people.
