Turkish airstrikes kill 4 civilians in northern Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish airstrikes killed early on Thursday four civilians, including a young girl and a woman, in the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northwestern Syria.
Locals said the airstrikes on Tel Rifaat, which shelters thousands of displaced people from Afrin Region, resulted in the killing of four civilians, including a girl and a woman, and the injury of 10 people.
Among the victims were five-year-old Melak Shiyar, her mother Jamila Khalil (32), and Ibrahim Muhammad Sheikho (55).
The airstrikes also caused significant material damage to the affected areas.
Early on Thursday, Turkey launched multiple airstrikes on various areas in northeastern and northern Syria, including the northern countryside of Aleppo, raising concerns about the humanitarian impact on civilians.
The Turkish airstrikes hit the towns and cities of Tel Rifaat, Manbij, Kobani, and Qamishli.
The airstrikes claimed the lives of 12 civilians, including two children, and left 25 others injured, according to a statement from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
