Turkish strikes kill 12 civilians, target 42 sites in north Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish airstrikes on northern and northeastern Syria on Wednesday claimed the lives of 12 civilians, including two children, and left 25 others injured, according to a statement from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday.
The SDF’s Media Center reported that the Turkish forces targeted critical infrastructure, residential areas, and security personnel in a series of coordinated attacks. Among the casualties were unarmed civilians caught in the bombardment, with damage extending to essential services across the region.
The SDF highlighted that the strikes not only resulted in civilian deaths and injuries but also struck vital service facilities, including bakeries, power stations, oil fields, and security checkpoints.
In total, 42 locations were hit, severely impacting the region’s ability to provide basic services, according to the SDF’s statement.
The ongoing Turkish attacks have raised alarm over the escalating violence in the region, with the SDF urging international intervention to stop the continued targeting of civilians and essential infrastructure.
