Gunmen attack SDF posts in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Several attacks targeted on Thursday posts of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
The attacks coincided with Turkish airstrikes targeting several cities in Northeast Syria.
Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle hit an SDF checkpoint at the entrance of the town of al-Hissan in the north of Deir ez-Zor, causing material damage from the gunfire.
Moreover, gunmen also attacked an SDF post in the village of al-Jnenah north of Deir ez-Zor using machine guns, while another attack targeted a checkpoint in the village of al-Buneital in eastern Deir ez-Zor, with no casualties reported.
In the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, several sporadic clashes erupted using medium and heavy machine guns between groups affiliated with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the SDF.
The NDF, a militia affiliated with the Syrian government forces, stationed in areas west of the Euphrates River attacked SDF posts in the towns of Hawaij and Shuhail on the eastern bank of the River.
