Turkey launches multiple strikes across NE Syria, leaving casualties

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces launched on Wednesday night a series of artillery and drone strikes across several cities and towns in Northeast Syria.

In the town of Tel Rifaat, located in the northern countryside of Aleppo, Turkish shelling resulted in two deaths, including a child, and six injuries.

Tel Rifaat is home to many displaced people from the Afrin region, who have sought refuge there since the Turkish “Olive Branch” operation in 2018.

In Kobani, a drone strike targeted the city center, with local sources confirming casualties, though the exact number remains unreported.

Meanwhile, in Manbij, the Turkish forces shelled the villages of Sayyada, Awn Dadat, Tokhar, and Daraj with heavy artillery, according to the Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The SDF’s Media Center also reported that the Turkish forces shelled areas in the western countryside of Tel Abyad in the northern countryside of Raqqa.

Further attacks were reported in the countryside of al-Malikiyah (Derik) in Northeast Syria, where eyewitnesses confirmed additional strikes by the Turkish forces.
