ISIS attack kills 12 government soldiers in Syrian Desert
HOMS, Syria (North Press) – An attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) on a military bus killed on Tuesday 12 government soldiers in the Syrian Desert.
A military source said that the bus, which was transporting 17 soldiers from the Division 18, broke down in the village of al-Bayda, east of Homs, during a dust storm.
According to the source, ISIS militants launched an attack on the bus using automatic weapons, killing 12 soldiers, including several officers.
Five soldiers managed to escape, taking advantage of the reduced visibility caused by the storm, the source added.
The source could not provide the names of the killed soldiers or confirm how many of the dead were officers.
