IED attack injures 6 soldiers in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded with a vehicle of the Syrian government forces in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, injuring six soldiers.
Local sources said that an IED attack targeted a military vehicle of the government forces near the village of al-Kark Sharqi in the eastern countryside of Daraa, injuring six soldiers.
The sources revealed that unknown assailants specifically targeted a joint patrol of personnel from the Military Security Branch and the Air Force Intelligence Branch.
In response, the government forces went on high alert, dispatching more than four vehicles—some equipped with anti-aircraft machine guns—to the area.
A thorough search of the surroundings is underway to locate the attackers responsible for this latest escalation in violence.
The latest incident follows a similar assault on Friday, when three soldiers were injured by an IED in the city of Daraa, southern Syria.
