Coalition airstrikes kill 7 Iranian-backed militants in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Aircraft of the U.S.-led Global Coalition targeted on Monday night posts of the Syrian government forces and Iranian-backed militias in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
In response, the coalition aircraft targeted three posts of the government forces and at least five positions of the Iranian-backed militias in the towns of Khsham, Marrat, al-Tabiyyah, Harabesh, and Hawija Sakr neighborhood in the city of in Deir ez-Zor.
The strikes came following a missile attack on a Coalition base at Conoco Oil Field, which was fired from areas controlled by the government forces and Iranian-backed militias west of the Euphrates River.
The strikes resulted in the killing of three Syrian government soldiers and four Iranian-backed militants.
Earlier on Monday, a military source said that Coalition airstrikes hit sites belonging to the government forces and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the village of Jaffra, and Hawija Sakr neighborhood.
