SNA releases Syrian returnees from Lebanon for $100 each

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A faction within the Turkish-backed armed opposition, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in Aleppo countryside released on Monday 57 Syrian returnees from Lebanon followed the payment of a $100 “fine” per individual.

The 57 detainees, arrested upon entering Syria through the Awn al-Dadat crossing in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, were held by the SNA’s Sultan Murad Division.

Their release reportedly followed the payment of a $100 “fine” per individual, according to local sources.

Others detained by the Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya) faction remain imprisoned in the cities of al-Bab and Azaz, north of Aleppo, that are under the control of the SNA.

The arrests began earlier when the Sultan Murad and Levant Front factions launched a campaign targeting displaced Syrians fleeing Lebanon. A total of 95 people were initially detained as they crossed into Syria.
